Procrastination

I'm back at the lake after a week in Odessa. I'm supposed to be working on the novel but instead I've spent twenty minutes figuring out how to change the template on this blog. I'm not sure I succeeded. It's cloudy today and windier than I'd like, but still warm, so I figure I'll procrastinate a bit more and go lie on a raft in the lake for a bit. Here until Sunday, then off to Austin to help my brother Philip and his wife Audrey and their beautiful baby Ella move into their lovely new home.

I'm beginning to think that "out of sight, out of mind" thing is really true. Here I am out in the middle of nowhere and, family excepted, I don't really hear from a soul. Well, what can you do? Procrastinate!

almost a year later...

i remembered i had a blog. and only b/c my friend sally's blog went up in anticipation of her move to egypt. when i read my first and last and only post, i realized that it's been one year ago today that i adopted jasmine! so today is my happy jasmine day. she is pure joy in a bundle of white and black and at my feet as i write this.

i'm at lake brownwood looking out at cloudy skies, my parents have just left for odessa, and it's time to get to work on the novel...
